The Black Swan

There is an old adage "if you fail to plan, you plan to fail". Our approach comes from the fundamental notion that businesses fail because they don’t (or don’t know how to) protect themselves from the unknown.

This is aptly illustrated by Nassim Taleb’s Black Swan Theory on dealing with a large-impact, hard-to-predict, and rare event beyond the realm of normal expectations.

The link to Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Information Security Management (ISM) is clear. Just because it has never happened before, does not mean that it cannot or will not occur.
